Industrial Engineer Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead and optimize our fabrication and manufacturing processes. This individual must thrive in a high-mix, low-volume production environment and possess hands-on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles. A successful candidate will be a motivational leader and a positive change agent, capable of working across departments to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance team performance.
Industrial Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and optimize workflows, layouts, and production schedules for maximum efficiency.
- Identify and eliminate waste using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, etc.).
- Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost and increase productivity.
- Work closely with shop floor teams to provide training and implementation support for Lean initiatives.
- Design, implement, and refine metrics to monitor performance and drive improvements.
- Collaborate with design, project management, and fabrication teams to improve manufacturability of custom signs.
- Serve as a technical resource to resolve production challenges and recommend long-term solutions.
- Lead by example to build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Qualifications:
**Required:**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience with proven results.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume shop.
- Demonstrated success implementing Lean Manufacturing tools in various business models.
- Proven ability to lead teams, facilitate change, and influence without authority.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in process mapping, root cause analysis, and production planning tools.
**Preferred:**
- Experience in signage or custom fabrication industries.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and CAD software.
- Six Sigma or Lean Certification.
